World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.
For instance an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level rises.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to provide them with a boost in stats or an extra effect. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the item to which it is applied (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals per.
The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will drop at the time of the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure how much it will be improved after a reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be expensive, and it is possible that the item will be obsolete or even break when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also offer the player a bonus if they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded many ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 as soon as you can.
In the endgame you'll often discover that the best way to enhance your gear is to place Glyphs. These are the only upgrade components which can be upgraded to level 15 and give a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again, are the most common. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the many Glyphs and there are also a few rare glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
When you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus which will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Utilizing a Glyph will boost all nodes that are connected to it, and it is recommended to position your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximise the impact. Leveling
The item upgrading system lets players increase the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each item level requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item, and when enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When an individual player upgrades a piece of equipment it will be replaced by the new item. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This can be a downside in that the item could increase in price even if you do not require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrades. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will come with a level 1 base and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This is a good idea, but should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.
Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to modify their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or does not swim as a dolphin). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the max roll by a factor of 10. This item is extremely valuable in PvP as an item that is properly rolled it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.
Requirements

Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded increases its crit chance that it will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. Slots is a brand new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to the value of the base item. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades for a price of. 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have lower costs per upgrade.
Premium items may require different upgrades than standard gear. For example they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each upgrade will require the use of different ingredients needed to upgrade.
